Trentham Environment Action Group was formed in 1996 and campaigned since then, raising eight thousand pounds, to have the overhead power lines re-routed away from the houses in the community of Trentham. The campaign submitted a case to the Department of trade and industry in September 1998 requesting a review of consent of the line. The secretary of state turned down the request for the review in March 2000.The accumulated problems associated with overhead power lines are on going and continue to be of great concern for the people affected and the Nation as a whole. Below are links to two sad stories of how the power lines and pylons in particular have affected peoples lives.
